HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN YOUR BUSINESS?

It started as a side business, while working full-time as a Home Automation and Security installer. I have a passion for cars, and it was a way I could be around vehicles more. As the side hustle grew, we decided to expand and open a fixed-location.

HOW DID THE HELP YOU GOT FROM BACD IMPACT YOU ADN YOUR BUSINESS? 

More than anything, BACD provided practical support. The knowledge from experienced entrepreneurs, and being around like-minded people who have “been there” made a difference for me. I couldn’t say enough about the BACD team.

WHAT WAS MORE DIFFICULT THAN YOU THOUGHT IT WOULD BE? 

Handling cash flow.  You go from getting paid every two weeks, and paying for things your probably don’t technically need. It’s a totally different ball game when you own a business. You control how your business is doing and the profit you make. This was a big change, we start weighing out options and analyzing what our priorities are or what are better investments. I continue to remind myself that patience is important because things take time to grow. As a business owner, you have to keep it moving.

HOW DO YOU MARKET YOUR BUSINESS? 

Google, social media and events. We try to get out to car shows and other events in the area to set up booths and answer questions. Building relationships with other business owners is another way we have been able to generate business, and of, course word of mouth.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO START THEIR OWN BUSINESS? 

Start small and keep expenses low. Improve on what you’re doing, and when the time is right to really launch, you will be as prepared as one could be.
