Thursday
November 19
10:30AM - 11:30AM

Free

Following last year’s successful launch of DC’s social entrepreneurship centre – FastStart SHIFT – this is an opportunity to learn more about social enterprises and how you can focus on both profit and social good while running your business.

By the end of the this session, you will gain inspiration through success stories, and you will discover how FastStart SHIFT can support you to kickstart or pivot a business to start making positive social or environmental impacts!

About the Presenter

Jay Fisher is a professor of Entrepreneurship and Small Business at Durham College and Faculty Lead for FastStart SHIFT – which supports new social enterprise businesses. He is also the lead for Enactus DC, a social entrepreneurship team which uses entrepreneurial thought and action to run community-based projects with high social impact.

This event is held during ‘Do It In Durham Week’.

Now in its 8th year, ‘Do It In Durham’ is a major part of the Durham Region business calendar. It is our collaborative series of events held during Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW). It is brought to you by local businesses and organizations who are already ‘Doing it in Durham!” Global Entrepreneurship Week is where we celebrate the job creators, innovators, entrepreneurs and businesses GLOBALLY in over 170 countries.
