With failure after failure in trying to launch, and building a guerilla marketing campaign to win over a new kind of consumer, he and his partners have taken a favorite kitchen recipe and made it the next big alcohol brand, and all from that painful itch not to fail.
From pouring samples in a deserted Calgary liquor store to pitching a concept to the LCBO, he will show you how success came from failure, and how persistence and the ‘hustle’ is what will win over your customers. In his experience, the customer is your best sales person and how social media and word of mouth can be the best form of advertising. This all comes from listening, learning, refining and adapting a sales pitch, something Kevin has done over 300,000 times in the last 3 years.
SoCIAL LITE Vodka is now the #1 selling vodka soda brand in Canada, and it all started here in Whitby! It has spurred a new segment in the ready-to-drink alcohol category, and now the large producers are trying to catch a runaway success!
Kevin’s Bio – Kevin has a degree in Computer Engineering, however spent most of his previous career working as an Electrical Project/Construction Manager, on large infrastructure projects, for the GTAA (Pearson Airport), Hydro One, and OPG. He has built 4 solar farms, 4 hydroelectric dams and numerous electrical projects around the GTA. He Co-Found SoCIAL LITE Vodka in 2013, which turned from a hobby business into a fulltime job in 2016. AWARE Beverages is a local company based here in Whitby, with sales across Canada and in the US.
