Gym Connex is a Home Gym sharing platform; a website connecting Home Gym Owners with individuals looking for a new and personal way to achieve their fitness goals.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Pandemic response to Covid-19 prompted our regular commercial gyms to close, and with that, we lost our opportunity to continue to train our bodies and achieve the fitness goals we have. We discontinued our memberships and had to regroup!
Our family built a Home Gym, and found many community members that wished to train with us. We decided to take it further, connecting Hosts and Renters, and offering the opportunity for many in our communities to make income from their investment during difficult times.
What value did you receive from BACD?
We received priceless support and engagement; mentoring with marketing and direction, contacts for insurance and legal advice. We could not be where we are right now without Marlon’s support and guidance.
Tell us about your business growth
Gym Connex at this time just prior to launch has 5 Gym locations, is run with just two employees- myself and my partner Adrianna Darling, and we are hoping to expand to include a social media marketer and administrator in the near future.
What marketing strategies have been successful for you?
We have successfully utilized Facebook and Instagram promotion opportunities and are working toward releasing our audio commercials to Spotify within the month of May.
What advice would you give someone who wants to start a business?
Listen to all the business advice you can- there is always something more to learn!

Never forget about your family and friends to help drive your business: they become your personal cheerleaders and their interpersonal relationships reach farther than just your personal contacts!
